On August 29th, around 6:57 PM, firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the area of Highway 290 East and Bueno Drive. Engine 9221 and Tanker 9231 arrived on the scene and found a Ford F350 fully involved on fire with a boat in tow. Firefighters from Engine 9221 deployed a front bumper line and extinguished a grass fire that had started to spread and moved to extinguish the vehicle fire. The vehicle fire was quickly extinguished and firefighters ensured nothing was smoldering. Firefighters remained on the scene for an extended period of time for traffic control and scene safety and until the wrecker was able to clear the vehicle from the roadway. Firefighters also sprayed off the roadway due to diesel on the road. Firefighters cleared at 8:24 PM.
